pline 1.0 is out

  • New: pline 1.0 is a signed, notarised download for Macs with Apple silicon on macOS 14 or later, and it updates itself.
  • New: keep typing while the agent works. Messages wait as Queued and go out when the reply ends; Stop puts them back in the box.
  • New: Settings › Search. Google by default, or DuckDuckGo, Bing, Ecosia, Brave Search, Kagi or your own engine.
  • Fixed: websites stay in pline. The agent works in a pline tab and is kept from opening another browser.

Switch agents per Space, and Settings in Liquid Glass

  • New: each Space keeps its own agent. Switch from the agent menu in the chat box or with ⌥⌘A, and the earlier messages stay above a “Switched to …” line. The new agent starts fresh and does not see them.
  • New: a model menu with the models and modes your agent offers, and / for the agent’s own commands next to pline’s.
  • New: Settings is rebuilt in Liquid Glass. Settings › Agents installs Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and Goose with the exact command shown first, opens Terminal for the agent’s own login, and tests the connection without sending a prompt. Factory Droid is listed too.

Liquid Glass, live preview, and watchr in your tabs

  • Changed: watchr now works inside your pline tabs (watchr 0.35.1), and it is on by default. With Claude Code, pline switches off other browser tools for the session, so no separate browser window opens.
  • New: a project Space can run its dev server and show it in a pinned Preview tab.
  • New: after the agent changes files, pline checks the preview and can ask the agent for up to two fixes per message. Baselines and check runs live in the QA tab.
  • Changed: Liquid Glass across the whole browser on macOS 26, with larger controls, and fallbacks for macOS 14 and 15, Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast.
  • New: buttons to bring back a hidden sidebar or agent panel, and an option to put the agent panel on the left.
  • Changed: in full screen the page runs edge to edge, and the buttons for hidden panels appear when you move the pointer to the top.
  • Changed: the Chromium macOS sandbox is on.
  • New: the chat box has pills for the Space’s agent and project folder.
  • New: the app icon.
  • Fixed: stray Markdown markers in a reply that was still streaming (905facb).

Memory controls, project folders and a new chat

  • New: the Memory tab lists every entry with the agent that wrote it, with Forget and restore. pline asks the first time an agent wants to save, and the site button in the address field can stop agents remembering anything on that site.
  • New: pline asks before an agent takes control of a tab through the DevTools port, and a Space can remember the answer.
  • New: the chat is rebuilt: streaming Markdown, the agent’s plan as a card, tool calls folded into steps, @ to add a tab and / for commands.
  • New: connect a project folder to a Space. The agent works there, file edits show as diffs in the permission sheet, and the chat box shows the branch and changed files.
  • Changed: tabs you are not looking at stop rendering, which cuts CPU use with many sites open.

Chromium basics, browser import and agent tasks

  • New: downloads with a footer popover (progress, cancel, Show in Finder).
  • New: a per-site permission sheet for camera, microphone, location and notifications, with Don’t Allow by default.
  • New: an “Open in app?” check before any link opens another app.
  • New: JavaScript dialogs as sheets, a PDF viewer, and recovery from a crashed page.
  • New: import from Arc (Spaces, colours, pinned tabs, folders, favorites), Chromium-family browsers and Safari, with Undo and “Remove imported items”.
  • New: every prompt is a task. Spaces run tasks side by side, and there is a Tasks tab with Open, Stop and Rerun, Repeat… schedules, “Needs approval” for background tasks and a separate group for the agent’s tabs, with Take over.
  • Fixed: undoing an import now stops a task running in a Space that import created (77237f7).
  • Fixed: Stop now releases the tab the prompt was working on (4282c61).

  • Changed: the web engine is now Chromium (CEF), with WebKit kept as a built-in fallback.
